Nigel P. Harvey (Founder — Retired)

Nigel Harvey is the founder of The Empyrean Group. He holds a B.Sc. from London University and is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electronics and Electronics Engineers. He is also a Member of the Canadian Association of Physicists. As head of research at a nuclear instrument company, Nigel designed some of the early semi-conductor detectors that policed the nuclear test ban treaty with the Soviet Union. In 1973, Nigel began specializing in government/industry relations. Nigel is a pioneer in helping companies benefit from government aid for technical development. He was a member of Canada’s first scientific equipment trade missions to Australia, South Africa and Eastern Europe. Nigel is a leading expert in R&D tax credits, both in Canada and the US.

David F. Bodi

David Bodi has been Vice President of The Empyrean Group Ltd. since 1998. He is a certified member of The Canadian Management Association and has 15 years experience in finance and labour relations. David spent 11 of those years as Controller of a large division of the Gates Rubber Company, a multinational corporation. He has in-depth experience with the SR&ED program, especially aspects related to the identification of qualifying costs.

Stephen J. Powers, MBA

Steve Powers joined The Empyrean Group in December 2001 and is now Managing Director of CCR Cost Recovery Services, Empyrean’s sister company in the US. Steve has over 20 years experience in research and development, most recently at a leading industrial magnet company. In addition, he has a strong background in software and electronic systems. Steve holds a BSME from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an MBA degree from Anna Maria College. He also is a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Society, the Society of Manufacturing Engineering and the Society of Plastics Engineers.

Frank Naccarato, PhD, PEng

Frank Naccarato is the Empyrean’s Manager, Toronto Region, and is a senior technical advisor with the company. He holds a a B.A.Sc. in Engineering Science (Aerospace) and a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering (Robotics) from the University of Toronto. Frank has over 13 years of engineering and management experience in a number of R&D fields, including aerospace, robotics and laboratory automation. He has been with Empyrean since January 2002.

Stephen W. Delchamps, PhD

Steve Delchamps has been with The Empyrean Group since 1998 and was named Director of Technical Services in October 2000. Steve received his BS in Engineering from Cornell University and holds two doctoral degrees—in physics and English. He has over ten years experience as an experimental physicist and is a Member of the Society for Technical Communication.

Gary K. Cousin, MBA

Gary Cousin has been a senior member of Empyrean’s technical team since January 1998. He obtained his BSME from Lafayette College and his MBA from Boston University. Gary has over 25 years of experience in a variety of development, engineering and managerial positions, both in the United States and in Canada. One of his many accomplishments has been the design, construction and programming of fully-automated, self-monitoring natural gas pumping stations.

Glen Sincarsin, PhD, PEng

Glen Sincarsin received a B.A.Sc., M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto. He joined The Empyrean Group team early in 2004 as a technical advisor. Glen has close to 20 years experience in the area of research and development, specializing in spacecraft dynamics and control. He has served as a director for the Centre for Research in Earth and Space Technology.
